The Bungerack III
Richard Bunger Evans’ "Bungerack" solves a problem common to modern pianists – finding a way to view their musical scores while playing on the inside of a grand piano! Bunger handcrafted a few of these functional works of art (made of oiled oak wood, aluminum tubing, cork cushioning material and steel tightening mechanism) in a numbered edition for personal friends in the world of new music (composer John Cage, pianist Delores Stevens, et al) and provided details on how other pianists might construct their own Bungeracks in an article in Contemporary Keyboard magazine.
Graphic shows the Bungerack III, invented for pianists who play new musical techniques that require musical effects created in and on the grand piano interior.
